For decades, heroin addicts have been given methadone in massive quantities to fend off painful withdrawal symptoms. When first introduced, the powerful drug methadone, was never intended to be a long term solution. In fact, many methadone users have been on the drug for decades.

The concern with methadone is when a user comes off of it, they will experience withdrawal symptoms far greater and far more severe than they would experience with heroin withdrawal.

Depending upon on the amount of methadone the person was taking, withdrawal symptoms may include vomiting, severe body pain, insomnia, anxiety, diarrhea, fever, sweating, chills, suicidal ideation, depression, and severe cravings. Unlike heroin, these withdrawal symptoms have been known to last for over a month.

More and more people are beginning to realize methadone may not be the miracle cure for heroin abuse that people once thought it was. In fact, in recent years there has been a growing trend for holistic based rehabilitation. These drug-free approaches allow people suffering from heroin addiction to permanently get off the drug without replacing it with something more dangerous like methadone.

When dealing with heroin addiction, it is vital to enroll in an effective drug rehab; one that will deal with the addiction as well as the cause of the addiction. If you or anyone you know is suffering from a drug or alcohol addiction, you must seek help immediately.

Should we decriminalize drugs in an attempt to reduce the violence, overflowing prisons and homelessness in our country?

It is a parent’s worse nightmare; having a child with a drug or alcohol addiction. That nightmare continues during many attempts to get them help through a drug and/or alcohol rehab and often times a family’s only leverage is to threaten getting the police involved.

In the end the only thing that matters is that the individual gets help. But imagine if drugs were legal? There is no more worry about legal action. There is no more worry about being sent to prison and there is no worry that a person’s family will threaten legal action if the addict does not go to rehab thereby cutting the chances way down that the individual will ever get help.

The argument on this idea is that if we make drugs legal and tax them than the country will not be funding massive projects in the prisons, that we will not have to worry about gang violence on the streets and that the allure of drugs will be minimized. In theory this idea does not sound bad, however for the hundreds of thousands of heroin addicts in our country, making drugs legal is not going to do anything but further their addictions. Drug rehab is the only solution to handling a drug addiction. This needs to be pushed, forced, and screamed from the rooftops if we are ever going to stop the drug epidemic in our country.

As the country has had it’s attention focused on the Gulf Coast pollution created by the BP oil spill, a far more widespread and deadly pollution is sweeping the nation – drug abuse. Drug and alcohol addiction are costly to taxpayers and prescription addiction is a major threat in the world according to reports.

Prescription drug abuse is rapidly becoming a world wide problem on par with cocaine and opiates according to these reports. The only real solution is drug rehab. Fortunately for Louisiana residents there is is Narconon Louisiana.

Narconon Louisiana does both drug education and rehabilitation. However, they are very different from traditional drug rehab facilities in that their program’s success rate is 76% for permanent recovery. Their clients not only come off drugs but stay off drugs and go on to lead happy and productive lives.

Narconon Louisiana delivers the full Narconon program on an in-patient basis. Their retreat is on 15 acres and includes a pool and recreation center for use in the student’s off time.

The initial steps in the Narconon Louisiana program address the body. A person addicted to drugs is nutritionally deficient as the drugs create deficiencies in the body. These deficiencies are addressed upon intake at Narconon Louisiana and once fully withdrawn from drugs, the individual does the Narconon New Life Detoxification Program. This program flushes the residual toxins left over from drug use from the body in a safe and effective manner.

The results from the New Life Detoxification Program are individually quite remarkable, however, the stated goal is that a person can think more clearly and whose physical cravings have been eliminated.

Completing the full Narconon program at Narconon Louisiana sets the student on a new course in life, free from drugs and alcohol.

If you would like more informaiton on the Narconon program or successful drug treatment contact Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.

Just recently, VH1′s reality show, Celebrity Rehab, started production on its fourth season. The show, which films celebrities on their quest to rid themselves of their addictions, has become known for allowing viewers a front row seat into the struggle, pain and self reflection that is inevitable when dealing with substance abuse issues.

For those who have seen someone struggle with a drug addiction, or have struggled with an addiction themselves, they are all too familiar with the long, lonely road that is traveled in order to attain sobriety. In fact, attaining permanent sobriety is one of the hardest things that a person can do. That is, unless you enroll in an effective drug rehab.

One such rehab is Narconon Louisiana. Narconon Louisiana is fast becoming one of the premier facilities in the U.S. This is mostly attributed to their unheard of success rate of 76% and the quiet, serene atmosphere that addicts are surrounded by while embarking on their quest for sobriety. There are several components to the Narconon Louisiana program, all of which contribute to their ability to help people stay off drugs and alcohol for the rest of their life.

Upon entering into the Narconon program, clients are able to detoxify their bodies using a dry-heat sauna. This is the same program that has gained recognition in New York, allowing hundreds of 9/11 rescue workers to rid their bodies of the harmful chemicals and debris that were ingested during the clean up efforts and in Utah, where the police force routinely sends their law enforcement officers to do the sauna program in order to detoxify themselves from the harmful chemicals they are exposed to when dealing with toxic methamphetamine laboratories. This program fully handles the physical aspect of addiction by allowing addicts to sweat out toxic drug residues that are one of the number one reason why relapses occur.

In addition to the sauna program, clients work one on one with a counselor in order to figure out what problem drugs and alcohol were solutions for in the first place. Once that problem is isolated and handled, clients no longer have to live their life falling into the same traps which perpetuate the drug and/or alcohol abuse.

So, while Celebrity Rehab may open many people’s eyes to the quickly growing drug epidemic in our society, it is good to know that there are effective treatment programs out there, like Narconon Louisiana that can permanently handle addiction. If you or anyone you know is in need of hep for a drug or alcohol addiction, please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.

Teen angst, acting out, troubled teens; these are terms used for teenagers when they are not doing well. This is because it has become increasingly popular for teenagers to self medicate their depression, anger and anxiety with illegal drugs. In fact, 3 out of every 4 high school students have consumed alcohol by the end of their senior year, 50% of teens admit to trying an illegal drug by the time they have graduated high school and over 25% of teenagers have been offered, sold, or given an illegal drug by someone on school property.

This means, that while most children experience the seemingly required growing pains during their teen years; drug abuse has become the solution.

In order to prevent lifetime drug abuse, it is vital for parents to enroll their children in an effective drug rehab. One rehab that has garnered much success in the rehabilitation of teens, and offers their services in an outpatient basis, is Narconon Louisiana. This drug rehab allows teens to work one on one with a counselor to figure out what problem or problems, drugs and alcohol were solution for in the first place. This non-traditional program’s viewpoint on handling drug addiction allows children to address the key mental and emotional issues that lead to their addiction so that they can live drug free, stably and happy.

In addition to handling the reason behind the addiction, Narconon Louisiana also handles the inevitable cravings that an addict experiences that are notorious for preventing a person from maintaining sobriety. The drug rehab tackles this program by enrolling students in a dry-heat sauna program that allows the drug residues that build up in the system to release from the body and helps to drastically reduce physical drug cravings.

The Narconon program is a pioneer in the field when it comes to handling addiction and achieves a 76% success rate for permanent recovery.

Don’t let a depression problem with your teenager turn into a lifetime of drug and alcohol abuse. Call Narconon Louisiana today at 866-422-4650 for more information. Help is available.

One of the biggest problems in our society is that there is a drug and alcohol epidemic. Anyone that reads the reports on the amount of people addicted to drugs, will see the lengths that people will go to, and they may even have seen for themselves the way a person can destroy themselves, their families and the people around them while struggling with addiction. The problem isn’t just addiction; it is also that nothing effective is being done to handle this problem.

The only real way to handle a drug and/or alcohol addiction is to enroll in an effective drug rehab. One such rehab that has solidified themselves as a leader in the field of addiction is Narconon Louisiana. Narconon Louisiana is a long-term, drug and alcohol rehab that currently achieves a 76% success rate for permanent recovery.

Narconon Louisiana is located just outside of Baton Rouge. This premier facility has become renown for their ability to permanently handle substance abuse addictions. The biggest factor that allows this facility to be successful is their stance addiction. Narconon Louisiana does not subscribe to the idea that addiction is a disease. Instead clients work one on one with a counselor to figure out what problem drugs and alcohol were solutions for in the first place. When someone reaches for the high that drugs provide they are trying to handle some aspect of life that is troubling them. In order to permanently handle this reach for drugs, it is vital to get to the bottom of the underlying issues that started the person down the road of drug use in the first place.

To do this, Narconon Louisiana implements their unique methodology, which consists of detoxifying the body through the use of a dry heat sauna that drastically reduces physical cravings by removing residues from the body that are left there by drugs. This unique approach handles physical drug cravings; one of the primary traps that an addict will fall into that causes them to resort to drugs.

The program also provides individuals with tools to handle life’s twists and turns called life skills courses. One of the hardest things for a person to get over when they are battling addiction is changing the way they approach problems or confrontation. With life skills courses an individual can handle all the mental and emotional issues associated with problems related to the substance abuse issues.

Regardless of the drug, the solution to the desire to become high lies in an effective drug rehab. Call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for immediate help.

The life of an addict is riddled with the remains of their hopes, dreams and desires. Substance abuse will tear what once used to be a lifelong goal into shreds – all in an attempt to achieve the next high. And while this devastating turn of events shocks and amazes most people, it is the everyday life of someone addicted to drugs and alcohol. But on this dark and lonesome path, there is a ray of hope, a glimmer of what the person could and should be, and one rehab has made it their mission to provide a new life for those struggling against their addictions.

Narconon Louisiana is a long-term, inpatient drug and alcohol rehab that has been helping people achieve permanent sobriety for over four years. Using a method of rehabilitation that has proven successful for hundreds of people, Narconon Louisiana stably achieves a 76% success rate for permanent recovery from addiction.

Among many of the unique components of this program, is The Way To Happiness course. This is one of the last steps that a client enrolled in this program does before entering back into society and it focuses on creating a stable set of morals for the individual. It has been found that one of the reason for the seemingly revolving door in rehabs is because former addicts do not know how to co-eist in society. They have to spend a good part of their life actively working against everything that sober, productive people work so hard to attain. They steal, lie and cheat and more often than not, harm the people around them in some way.

Narconon Louisiana has found that in order to achieve permanent sobriety, an addict has to adopt a new set of morals, a new outlook on life, and The Way To Happiness is that guide. This book covers such basics as, “Take Care of Yourself”, “Don’t Do Anything Illegal” and “Respect The Religious Beliefs of Others”. While this may sound simple to most, it is an entirely different way of thinking for an addict. For the first time in a long time they are not consumed with thoughts that can e destructive such as how they will get their next high, or where they are going to get more money. They are filled with thoughts on things that are survival such as, where they are going to work, how they are going to reconnect with their families and loved ones, and most of all they are filled with hope.

The Way To Happiness ensures that clients leave the facility armed with the knowledge needed to succeed, the knowledge needed to life a life free from drugs and alcohol. If you or anyone you know is in need of help for a substance abuse problem please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for immediate help.

Addiction – for most people, their idea of addiction is fueled by what they watch on television, what they read in newspapers, and what they learn in school. But for a growing amount of people their concept of addiction has become frighteningly real. They see first hand the lies, manipulation, desperation, loneliness, and pain that is addiction. And inevitably, they wonder, “Why do people become addicted to drugs?” Finally there is an answer.

People abuse drugs and alcohol because they are attempting to solve a problem. Everyday, every minute we are faced with problems. For the most part we handle them and move on – it is what makes life interesting. But for some, they just cannot see around a certain obstacle. And, whether they know it or not, resort to drugs and alcohol as a way to get around life’s barriers. Over time, they begin to amass more problems and more barriers, turning to drugs and alcohol each time. At that point they can no longer see the original problem, only a long list of things to avoid. So now that we know that someone abuses drugs and alcohol as a way to handle life, what do we do next?

Rehab is the only real answer to this question. But there is a catch – a rehab that does not acknowledge that an addict has the ability to cease being an addict, will not help. In fact they won’t even attempt to handle the problems that led to the drug use in the first place. In order for the addiction to be completely handled one has to search out a rehab that will restore the abilities of an addict and help them become the person they were always meant to be. One such rehab, Narconon Louisiana, has achieved a 76% success rate for permanent recovery by helping addicts figure out what problems drugs and alcohol were solutions for. While this viewpoint on addiction is sometimes not the norm, it does produce drug-free, productive members of society.

Narconon Louisiana is a long-term, inpatient drug rehab located just outside of Baton Rouge. They have been helping people get off drugs for over four years, and since their inception, have become one of the premier facilities in the United States.

There are several components to the Narconon Louisiana program, all of which guide the person towards a life without the need for drugs and alcohol. In addition to finding out what problems drugs and alcohol are solving for the person, clients on this program are given the opportunity to cleanse their body of the dangerous toxins that are left behind from the drug and alcohol abuse. These toxins and the physical drug cravings they cause are the number one reason why addicts relapse within weeks, months and even years after stopping the use of drugs.

Drugs and alcohol abuse will destroy everything and everyone in its path, until it gets handled permanently. If you or someone you know is struggling with a substance abuse problem please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.

One of the most devastaing things about watching someone struggle with an addiction is watching relapse occur. For some this may happen right after becoming sober, for others, this can happen years after they’ve had their last drink or fix. Why does this happen? Is addiction really a disease? Or is there something more to this problem of relapse? And most importantly, can relapse be avoided or stopped all together?

Fortunately there is actually a solution to permanently handle addiction and relapse that one drug rehab has been successfully using for the last four years. The name of that rehab is Narconon Louisiana.

Narconon Louisiana is a long-term, inpatient drug and alcohol rehab that refuses to accept relapses as part of recovery. Instead, the drug treatment center utilizes a successful detoxification program aimed at permanently handling the reasons behind relapses. This alows those suffering from a drug or alcohol addiction to move on with their lives and completely disconnect from drugs and alcohol altogether.

In order to handle the incredible amount of people relapsing in our society, Narconon Louisiana uses a sauna detoxification program that rids the body of drug toxins and residues. As drugs are basically poisons, once they are ingested, they run through the system, leaving behind residue that lodges into the fatty tissue of the body. What this means is that a person, long after they have stopped abusing drugs or alcohol, can be affected by drug use.

One of the very first things that clients participate in when enrolled in the Narconon Louisiana program, is the sauna detoxification program that actually drastically reduces these residues in the body thereby greatly handling physical drug cravings.

Narconon Louisiana then handles the mental and emotional aspects of addiction by allowing addicts to fully concentrate on the reason why they started abusing drugs and/or alcohol in the first place. While the sauna is aimed at cleaning out the body, the rest of the program is aimed at cleaning out the mind of all the reasons why drug or alcohol use is necessary.

There are several ways that this is done. Clients on the Narconon Louisiana program work one one one with a counselor to figure out what problems drugs and alcohol were a solutions for in the first place. Clients also learn how to take responsibility for their past transgressions, they learn to identify the people in their lives that cause them to not do well, they learn how to increase control over different areas in their lives, they learn how to communicate, and most of all they learn h ow to enjoy life without the aid of drugs and/or alcohol.

Relapse does not have to be a part of recovery and addiction does not have to be a lifelong problem. Help is possible, and it is available at Narconon Louisiana. If you or anyone you know is in need of help for a substance abuse problem, please call Narconon Louisiana immediately at 866-422-4650 for more information.
